As we face the challenge to produce more food, fuel and fiber for a growing world population, bees play a vital role in helping farmers establish a healthy harvest in a sustainable manner.
At Bayer, we are committed to environmental stewardship and sustainable agricultural practices to help ensure that our products, which are essential to protect plants from pests and diseases, are used in a bee-responsible manner. As part of our commitment to product stewardship, honey bee scientists at Bayer’s Bee Care Center collaborate with growers and industry partners to develop educational tools to help producers select the appropriate crop protection products and ensure they are used in the most efficient and responsible manner.
As a research-based company, we move forward by incorporating the lessons learned from product field monitoring into improved technologies. This is a critical part of our broader approach to promoting a responsible and sustainable use of our products. Bayer’s commitment to environmental stewardship and bee health extends beyond agriculture into our consumer lawn and garden, professional pest management and professional turf and ornamental businesses.

Introducing Fluency Agent Advanced from Bayer
Fluency Agent Advanced is a seed lubricant for corn and soybeans that further reduces the amount of dust and active ingredient potentially released during planting, thus reducing the risk of exposure to foraging honey bees and other pollinators. Fluency Agent Advanced is an alternative to talc, graphite and talc-/graphite-blended seed lubricants. >> Read more
CARE Stewardship Program
Collaboration is key in creating a sustainable agriculture and has been a theme in all our activities. That's why Crop Science, a division of Bayer promotes the CARE
stewardship program, designed to help growers use products responsibly and support the health of honey bees nationwide. The CARE initiative provides growers with quick reminders of things to consider during planting season and focuses on four pillars:
ommunicate — Let beekeepers close by know about your planting activities
ware — Be aware of wind speed and direction during planting
educe — Help reduce the amount of dust potentially released during planting by using Fluency Agent Advanced
nsure — Ensure seed is planted correctly
program materials, which offers tips to promote agricultural sustainability, have been sent to farmers nationwide and shared with seed dealers and seed treatment equipment stores. Look for one of our ads in Successful Farming, Progressive Farmer or Farm Journal
